Kind of a hit in Europe, flopped in America. From the hugely successful black album, the first album I came to know of the band. I had to buy the album three times, on cd. Metallica has some great records though, and this is certainly one of them.
Sad but true comes on a picture disc, and it always kind of amazes me when I put it on. It is very fulfilling to see it spinning like that. I must have had some money to burn that day, because it was not cheap. It is still not cheap, and as investments go, this is a nice one. This record is most interesting for the first song on the B-side, a very nice live version of Creeping death.
