So far the Corries records I wrote about were only so so. This one is funny and a joy to listen to. The tortoise is an hilarious description on how not to treat a pet, The folker gives a whole new perspective of the folk genre. Most of the songs are recorded live, which is always good with the Corries.
This piece of text (from Twa recruitin’ Sergeants) reminded me of a TV series I once saw: Sharpe, featuring Sean Bean.

The record came out in 1987, which confirms my suspicion that this is collected material, kind of a best of. I think many songs were not published before though.
