Vangelis’ concept album on Taoist philosophy. The cover states that ‘Going means going far, going far means returning‘. Vangelis tries to musically illustrate the spirals of the universe. The most famous song on it is To the unknown man, a song that I particularly liked.
It is also a less adventurous album compared to his previous works. Vangelis gets into a groove here. This is maybe the first album he made that really shows Vangelis as we’ve come to know him in later years. There are no surprises here.
It took me a long time to realise that the cover shows an audio cable. Not a musician, you know.
