When I took this in my hands again, I was realising how special the combination was. Okay, both Schumann, but a combination like this you will not find often in concerts. One soloist in a concert is expensive, but two? Prepare to empty the wallet!
Usually, records follow their own logic in programming works. You will get a series of piano concertos, all done by the same guy, or you’ll get some filler works added in the mix. Most of the times you will still find one soloist though.
Now this record is something else: one piano and one cello concerto, performed by different soloists and different orchestras. Now look at the last Spotify link: it has the same, but this time with a different pianist. So they did this trick twice. Maybe Schumann is special?
