The seventh album by the Irish singer songwriter and activist Christy Moore. Many of Moore’s sings are quite socially engaged. Ride on contains some songs about (political) struggle, like a Vive la Quinte Brigada, about an Irish contingent of fighters in the Spanish Civil War, The city of Chicago about Irish emigration to that city during the famine of 1840 or El Salvador about the civil war there in the Eighties.
I have no idea how this record came into my hands. There is a price on it, so it wasn’t a present. Contrary to what is customary, I didn’t note the place where I bought it, and the reason is not clear to me anymore. Having said that, it is quite good. A bit dated perhaps.
