Discogs

Two of the famous orchestral poetry from Claude Debussy, presented in all their French colouring by André Previn and the London Symphony Orchestra. As French as his first name might sound, Previn was born in Berlin in the crisis year of 1929. Being born in a Jewish family, he had to flee the country. They did as late as 1938, and young Previn got American citizenship in 1943.

In 1946 Previn started working as composer for MGM Studios, but has since then been active in jazz and classical music. As composer, pianist and conductor. He has led a handful of internationally renowned orchestra, and received many prizes. As far as his personal life is concerned, he has married five times (Mia Farrow and Anne-Sophie Mutter a.o.) and fathered and adopted many children. After his busy life, he died in 2019 at 89 years.
