Om de vier jaar mogen we stemmen
Op hen die onze voortgang remmen
En ons bestaan en toekomst
Voor een paar duiten verkopen
Ze blijven snel hun zakken vullen
En over democratie aan het lullen
Ze willen redden hun kapitaal
Regeren willen ze allemaal

Laat de rijken de crisis betalen

And this was sung in a very clear Amsterdam accent. The start of the 80s was not a good time for many things, but it sure produced some nice music. Drukwerk started in 1978 as a band that was singing protest songs. They sang against the closure of a youth club in Amsterdam, or against atomic energy. You know, the things young people protested against in those days (do I sound sufficiently old now?).

In 1990 the group fell apart, but in recent years singer Harry Slinger (try to say that a couple of times quickly!) is doing tours with among others his son. They produced a new album in 2013.
