How to make it in Hollywood

Discogs

Curtis Eller is a most curious banjo player from New York. I saw him first at a concert in a small venue in Amsterdam. I actually joined my boss from work, who told me it would be worth it. And it was, I bought this record then and there. It is signed by the artist himself.

The funny thing about the concert was the singer himself. I’m pretty sure he was touring Europe alone, and rented session musicians for his concerts. I don’t think the concert suffered from that musically, and if it did, the singer more than made up for the difference. While playing the banjo and singing, he entertains his public as if he is in the circus. The venue had a balcony, and believe it or not, he was climbing in it, hanging over the stage, while playing his instrument and singing.

Curtis Eller and his band are touring the UK in the coming months, so if you’re from that area, be sure to try them.
