So I’m left without the box for this one. I already have it, I just wanted to buy this one (for not too much) because of its sheer beauty. The compositions, the performances, the recording, it is all good. I’m listening to it again while I’m writing this, and I hear it’s old, an at the same time just good.
I once saw an opera by Peter Schat, a Dutch composer. It is the only opera that I didn’t finish: I walked out during the break. The reason was that I couldn’t agree to the premise of the opera: Tchaikovsky was suffering because he was gay, and that was the reason he wrote so much tormented and sensitive music. Times change I guess.
