Cello girls

Discogs

This is possibly the weirdest album in my collection. I realize I might have said that before. Cello girls is a collection of some experimental compositions based on classical works, played by performance artist Emily Kocken on cello. She advertised it by playing Bach’s first cello suite backwards, but that song is not on this record. It is not on Spotify, it was not on Discogs, and there are probably not many copies in existence. It is however still on sale, according to the website of the artist.

Mine is broken, of sorts. When listening to it, somehow the stylus kept jumping out of the groove, even though the record surface looks good. I don’t know what is going on. A pity, because I do like the music. I’m tempted now to buy a new copy, just to hear it again. Tricky, this listening project: it is costing me money!
