The second, and best album of the New Zealand band The Veils, released in 2006. I saw them live at the Lowlands festival and they were disappointing. Fantastic in the studio, but self deprecating during the performance. Somehow they could not keep up the excitement during the concert. Every time they played an amazingly good song, they destroyed it with the next. That way the concert went up and down, and the atmosphere went nowhere. A total disappointment.
The big hits here are Advice for young mothers to be, and most certainly Jesus for the jugular. Especially that last song really grabs me by the throat, pun intended. When it came out I bought this record in CD, and some years later on LP. Was smoking still allowed at concerts at that time?
