Belgium band Vaya con Dios was huge during the time I was doing a lot of ballroom dancing. It is nice music to dance to, and when you hear it enough, you get used to it, and eventually buy it. This is how radio works. So around the end of the 80s, I was hooked. This is their second and best record.

Vaya con Dios is mostly Dani Klein (Danielle Schoovaerts). It was founded by Dirk Schoufs, Willy Labregt and Klein. The first two were friends and had been in a band together. Klein was a bit older, and had tried in vain to gain success as a singer since she was 17. Lambregt quit the band before their first release came out in 1986. In 1991 Klein was alone, after a falling out with Schoufs. Schoufs died from a deadly combination of medication alcohol and drugs some months later.

I think I heard the third album once or twice, but it made no impression on me. By that time this short love affair was over. This second album is still worth a listen though.
