The second Kraftwerk album from 1975 is celebrating both radio activity and activity from the radio. This third record I have of the band is also the English language version, and all of them were released a little earlier in German. Kraftwerk wanted to be an international band, instead of focussing on the German market.
The first time I heard the band was their previous album: Autobahn. That must have been at the end of the 90s, and I was amazed by the repetitive nature of it. It is minimalism turned into pop music. I’m used to being annoyed by repeating music, yet this is also hypnotic. The band lures me in with seductive simple melodies packed into ever repeating beats. A hideous machine that is also somehow alluring.
