The Endless river represents what was found on the floor after the recordings of The division bell were finished. It is very much connected to that album, and is maybe more a last statement from the band than an album onto itself. It is atmospheric, and a bit elegiac. A beautiful farewell letter from the band to its fans.
This is the last record I bought in 2024, everything from now on was bought in the same year as I write about it. It also means that at one point I have no more records to write about, but that moment is not there yet. The distance between writing about it, and hearing a record for the first time, is getting smaller though.
