I am a big admirer of Discogs. The website has been set up with the specific goal of cataloguing all recorded works in the world. Not only that: also different versions of these recorded works. It is one of the few places where you can find the small differences. It also allows for a reliable marketplace to buy these works.
I just hate them using American title capitalisation. You Know This Kind Of Silly Capitals. It doesn’t read comfortable, it looks ugly and is not necessary. And for some languages, it can change the meaning of words. The word “Sie” signifies a respectful “you”, while “sie” means “them”. Both personal pronouns, but different meaning altogether. Capitalise everything, and you might change the meaning, or at least make it confusing.
Now look at the titles in the discogs listing. Luckily it is not everywhere like this. It might be an honest mistake by the creator of the entry. This is after all a community driven website. It relies on the work by many contributors, that might make these cultural based mistakes.
However, when I tried this myself some years ago, I found that the website was actively enforcing this capitalisation. I don’t know if that is still in place, because I usually don’t have to add new titles. I did write them an email complaining about it, but I never got an answer.
As this is the last of the series of Bach Cantatas, I wanted to close with this piece, not being about the recording at all.
