Invisible front 2005

Discogs

The Italian dark wave band Kirlian Camera is a bit of a hit or miss for me. Some albums clearly fall in the category of emo music. It is just too existential somehow. This album is not one of those. I think the band knows which of their back catalogue is successful and which is not, because at concerts it is always the better ones that I hear.

Invisible front is from, as the title of this release implies, 2005. Right around the time of the greatest album of this band: Still air, from 2000. The music on this album is stylistically very related. I admit that I was a bot surprised at finding this. This is a re-release from 2020.

Kirlian photography is a technique where the camera takes a picture of an object in a field of high voltage. What happens is that the objects are showing that charge as a corona of surrounding light.
