This is one of the few Neue Deutsche Welle records. Nena really was a lonely German band in an otherwise Britpop dominated world. It is still difficult to find records of this German style of new wave, even though now I know more names of bands. Nena however made it, because of the 99 Luftballons. not on this record.
What is on this record is Irgendwie, Iregendwo, Irgendwann, and Jung wie du. The first one she later released with Kim Wilde as Anyplace, anywhere, anytime.
Wikipedia writes Nena is the nickname of Gabriele Susanne Kerner. More interestingly, that it is a Spanish name, given to her on a vacation in Mallorca. It means little girl.
