There is a connection between this song and the Jackson 5 single yesterday. Harlem shuffle was written and produced in 1963 by the soul duo Bob & Earl, and covered by the Rolling Stones for the album Dirty Work. Bob was also the writer of Little bitty pretty one that was featured by the Jackson 5.

The video that came with this song was a combination of live action and animation, and was made by Ralph Bakshi (1978 version of the Lord of the Rings) and John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy show). It shows some drawn cats coming alive and going to a club called the Kool Kat. No relation to the clothing brand Cool Cat that was quite popular at the time.
