The anthem of the protest generation, led by Pete Seeger. Joan Baez firmly belongs to that category. It is assumed the song is originally written in 1901, so this version has some history. It was first sung as a protest song during a strike of tobacco workers in South Carolina in 1945.
The EP I have contains three other songs, and is of a very bad quality. I could barely play it because of all the times my player skipped the record. I cannot clean it because my record cleaner is not capable of cleaning singles. So I ploughed through it so to say.
