A song from the 1985 album Macalla by the ‘Family from Dore’ (Clannad). It is a duet with U2 singer Bono. It also marks the end of the period of their biggest successes. In the past year they made the immensely successful Magical ring album and scored the Robin of Sherwood series.
Clannad is from 1973. I had no idea they were that old. I really only know them from this successful period in the eighties. They had their farewell tour in 2020, following the death of founding member Pádraig Duggan. In the time in between they created the blend of pop and new age that was called Celtic.
