Schumann: Klavierkonzert / Cellokonzert

Considering all albums from this batch are mono recordings, I’m quite happy with the sound of this one. It might be the works, but I finally was happy hearing this. In these tough times, this is some relief.

I don’t know the cellist, Aldo Parisot. Reading wikipedia, I understand he died in 2018, aged 100. But what’s more, he was teaching cello at Yale (do they teach cello at Yale?) for sixty years, until uhm… 2018. How did that go during those last years? Did they bring him in in a wheelchair? I’m quite impressed, even though I know it might just have been an honorary position.
