I have written about this already. I got this version from a friend, trading it. I’ve always wondered if the trade was good, but I think it was. I remember he told me he bought it in Italy, but it is an English pressing. It sounds way better than the version I wrote about earlier.
I wonder if it is the mastering that is better, or that the difference is in the vinyl used for the picture disc. What makes this record extra special though, is the addition of two live tracks on the b-side. I think these two tracks are the best live tracks Metallica ever made, and they show off what the band can do on stage. That alone makes this record worth having.
The song is about a soldier that lost all four limbs and cannot talk. He can see and hear though. And think. But other than that, he is utterly alone with his memories about what happened.
