An odd record in my collection. Not bad at all, just odd. It was one of the few flute concerto’s I have, and for a reason. I just don’t like them that much. I think I bought this for the last track on the record though. It is not on the Spotify link, but on my record: Reigen seliger Geister.

If you google that you’ll find it is the title of a string quartet composed in the nineteen seventies. It is not that, Gluck lived quite a bit earlier. It is a ballet part of his opera Orfeo ed Euridice, known in English as the Dance of the blessed spirits. When I was young I was hearing it for the first time with my first girlfriend, on her rather old stereo. A nice memory.
