The Swedish instrumentalist Bo Hansson read the book The Lord of the Rings, given by his girlfriend, and was inspired to create this album. In the translation for the original Sagan om Ringen “The” was left out. It also becomes “Leaving Shire“.
Bo made a total of four likeminded albums in the seventies, one of which based on the novel Watership Down by Richard Adams. After I finished Tolkien’s work, I read Richard Adams. I never heard the music though.
This was the only loot from Queensday 1997. My regular supplier of many, many records, had quit. I suppose that disappointment led me to basically buy almost nothing.
