From every stage

By 1975, Joan Baez’ years of excellence were already long past. This concert album is testament to that. When I bought it, I only knew her first few albums, so I was disappointed in not hearing the same quality. The grumpy guy in the cellar was right after all: Joan Baez is just not as good.

Some nice songs in between though. The first part of the double album shows her alone, accompanying herself with guitar. On the second part some electronic backup is added. Try also her version of Leonard Cohen’s Suzanne. A song that many Dutch people my age know better from Herman van Veen.
