Orthodox slavonic liturgy

A Bulgarian version of a recording I already knew before I bought it. The recording is at times really beautiful, but sometimes the acoustics of the venue get a bit in the way. It is echoing a bit too much maybe.

On the cover the choir is called Bulgarian a capella choir. This tourist-friendly name is actually the Svetoslav Obretenov choir, named after the conductor of the same name. There is not much I can find about him that I can also read: all is in Cyrillic. What I can find is that he lived from 1909 to 1955, and that he was conductor, composer and schoolteacher. Also, he got awarded by the communist party.
