Some years before I got this musical aha moment. You know, when you recognise something from the past, totally unexpected. I had that with the German New wave, what is here sometimes called Neue Deutsche Welle. I heard songs from this style when I was with some friends, and not only did I like it, but also it sounded so familiar. The weird thing is that this music is not on the radio here, because German pop music is ignored. Just as French pop music is, I guess.
This experience made me look for records in this style. Burengerucht (noise from the neighbours) is just that: a collection of German hits from the eighties. A pity the actually the only real good song here is Nena’s 99 Luftbalonnen. It looks like that first song on the record is the selling argument, the rest is just filler.
