Kill Bill vol. 1

I must have seen this movie at least ten times. It took a while to grow on me, but I now love it. It’s the music that keeps getting to me. It is a strange mix of Japanese silliness combined with grandiose vistas of Sergio Leone. That combination also reflects the movies perfectly. On top of that, the cover is just a piece of art.

The soundtrack is mostly produced by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, a hiphop band from New York. The influence of this urban music style is noticeable, and not really my thing. I still like the music though, because of the songs that are chosen. The originals are still in there, even though there is this hiphop vibe around it. I just take out of it what I like and leave the rest.
