For a record that I cannot find on Spotify, that is basically a cheap collection of songs without any guidance I was surprised at how good it sounds. The tracks are well chosen and the recordings are good. Usually this kind of what used to be called here 13 in a dozen is not really that interesting. This one is.
Somehow there is something weird with the title though. It looks like some Frenchie’s dream of how English should be. Or it might be marketing. It looks like this came out in or around 1984. I think around that time the word Festival in this kind of collection was quite popular. The original French title was Les rois du blues, which in my mind sounds better.
