Godfried Bomans was a Dutch writer with good humor and a light style. He is perhaps most famous for his Erik of het klein insectenboek, where little boy Erik Pinksterblom turns into an even smaller version of himself to discover the world of insects. The book came out in 1941 and has been popular ever since. It was made into movies and series, and there is a comic book version.
In the years 1959 to 1962 Bomans was part of a television forum to answer questions of the public. He was usually the last person of the forum to answer, and he always did it by telling a story. The story featured a family member, in most cases an uncle. The uncle Frits, also mentioned on this recording, was actually not strictly a family member, but his godfather. This Godefridus Keunen was also the person he was named after.
An interesting little curiosity, but while listening to it I got more and more annoyed with the loud laughs and well, Dad humor of it.
