In 2013 Luke Winslow-King was the warming up for Pokey LaFarge. A charming act, just two people singing with guitar and washboard. The guy was well dressed, in clothing that breathed the atmosphere of the time. Like Pokey, but smaller.
Luke and his singer/washboard playing Esther Rose were married at that time, and she was responsible for creating his flashy outfit. It didn’t last, and somehow it cannot escape my attention that this partnership was for the music very beneficial. They were a fine balance, that Luke on his own never could find.
