Dvořák – Dumky trio op. 90

Discogs

This is by no means the first version I have of this work, but it is the nicest. The Beaux Arts Trio really did a nice job here. The trio was founded in 1955 by pianist Menahem Pressler, an American Jew that fled Germany at the onset of the Second World War.

Though the trio went through different line ups during their existence, their founding pianist was always there. Perhaps most famous is violinist Isidore Cohen, who accompanied Pressler for 24 years. He was formerly part of the Juilliard Quartet. The last performance of the trio was in 2008.
