The debut album of Split Enz spin-off band of the same name is nice, but the second album is a lot better. Although the album sounds like they’re no longer in the eighties, but already in the nineties. While the rest of Europe was still doing Britpop look-alikes mixed with new wave and punk, this represented a fresh start.
Neil Finn and Paul Hester started the band a year earlier. It would become more like the Finn’s family band, when first younger brother Tim and later Neil’s sons were joining in. They always had the same cheerful poppy tune though. If it were not so terribly overused, it would still be nice to listen to.
Nice sleeve art that I don’t have.
