This is a Portuguese collection of fado music. Before listening to it, I kind of braced myself for the worst. Most of us know fado only from female voices, like Cristina Branco, Amália Rodrigues or Dulce Pontes. There are male voices as well though, and in my experience they are sounding more like what I know from Dutch singers from Amsterdam. For my Dutch readers: they sound like Willy Alberti. And that is not a good thing. So imagine my surprise, as this collection is actually better than that.
Another thing I didn’t expect was to find it on Discogs, let alone Spotify. With a title like this, who would expect me to? There is no year on the record. Its label, Osiris (not the singer for the 2019 European Song Contest, Google!), was active in the 70s, and looking at the cover I would say it is from that era. Maybe it is possible to find some separate sings, because they are really worth it. If you like fado of course!
