I got dance in my pants
Every time I see the glory of a good-looking face
Well I just got to say, "Hey now, don't you worry baby, everything'll be fine
Meat Loaf was out of voice and his songwriter Jim Steinman had a pubescent itch to scratch. This piece of almost operatic drama was released in 1981, with Steinman singing together with Karla DeVito. DeVito was the singer that was seen on Meat Loaf’s Bat out of hell tour, syncing to the vocals of Ellen Foley.
It seems to me this 12 inch is a bit too much. Maybe in 1981 mastering was not yet that good that it could have been put on a 7inch, but there is enough space here to put four times as much as there actually is. Side B is empty, side A still has lots of space. On top of that, that record plant has created what looks like empty grooves on the B side, so it doesn’t look so empty. The horror vacui of the recording industry.
