Mysterious tones, heavy bass line, spoken voice with beautiful verse. Yeah, you got me Mark. Your Raymond Chandler-inspired little story about the underpaid sloth stumbling around in the dark still fascinates me. This is one of the cases where it actually makes sense to have this on 12 inch 45 rpm. Quality is high, and it fits the complete song.
Out of all of Mark Knopflers work I love this the best. It has a certain romance, a flair for creating a dusky atmosphere, and it sounds in the words and the music alike.
