Oh Spotify… where does your mind go? The link is only for the fourth pianoconcerto, according to Spotify the parts are from John Buck & his Blazers? Part 2 is from the Metronomes and part 3 takes the cake, it being from the Everly Brothers. Check.

Charles Rosen is an interesting figure in classical music. I suppose he is more famous for his writings on music, mainly The classical style: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, analysing the nature and evolution of the music of the classical period. Other than that he is a university lecturer, mathematician, literary critic and he took a Ph.D in French literature.

His playing of the famous fourth is not bad either. I’m not altogether convinced of the orchestra, but the soloist is superb.
