Back when I started with classical music, I was guided by many people. One of these pointed me to a recording of Esther, an oratorium by Händel. I recorded it from CD, and listened to it endlessly. Both the recording and the performance were superb. It made me aware of the importance of a good recording.
So I always kept an eye out for recordings on the same label. L’Oiseau-Lyre is an imprint of Decca. Decca is well known for its high standard in classical recordings, and this label is no exception. As a result I won many of these recordings.
Pastoral dialogues is a collection of songs, duets rather, of different composers. All of this is part of the so called early music, so up to early romantic times. The voices are brilliant, so is the recording. A joy to listen to.
