This might be the first and only real album I have of Amália Rodrigues. Yes, I know, I have more of them, but those are compilations, or published after her death. This is the eighth album shew made, and it was published in 1965. Mine is from two years later, as the Dutch pressing.
The Queen of fado was at the height of her vocal powers, and she also celebrated an acting career during this time. I don’t think this is her best album though. While I’m writing this, all kinds of Rodrigues’ songs go through my head. Songs that I enjoy, but that are not on this record. Maybe I have not listened to this enough.
