I’ve never had the honour to visit a concert of Argentine pianist Martha Argerich, but she is on my list of artists I would like to see (and in her case I’ll have to hurry: she is now 82). Her first concert was when she was just 8 years old. This recording was made in the early eighties, so her play has matured quite a bit.
She was married two times, and has three daughters by three different fathers. The first I did not know at all, but her second marriage was with conductor Charles Dutoit, her third with the pianist Kovacevich. My collection gets better connected all the time!
