Every time I look at this record, I’m thinking its opera. Even starting this article I’m thinking that. It is not though: it is a ballet. Since I’ve not added this as a tag, my guess would be it is the second ballet in my collection. Quite unique then.
While I’m writing this I’m hearing an item on TV about children and mobile devices: the WHO has published research that says it’s not a good idea to let children use the small screens too much. It is distracting them from making friends. An interesting connection because this ballet is about a young man falling in love with a real lifelike doll, setting aside the love of his life. The doll was made by the diabolical doctor Coppélius. The story shares an interest in robots and dolls with the Nutcracker. Both plots were based on stories by the romantic fairytale writer E.T.A. Hoffmann.
