Tapestry

I must have been around ten, when I was visiting my sister’s room for tea. We developed a small tradition together of drinking tea together in her room. I remember her room was full of all kind of 70s handicrafts. These were the days that people filled their houses with macrame and embroidery. Though she didn’t have a cat back then, the image on the cover reminds me of those moments. Chinese tea and smelling incense in a room filled with plants and all kinds of stuff hanging from a wooden ceiling.

Tapestry is the second studio album of American singer Carole King. The emotional songs are like pop music, but of the gentle kind. Probably the best known songs are You’ve got a friend and Will you love me tomorrow. That last one I already knew from a version on More Dirty Dancing. The album has been extremely successful, and is still sold (I saw it today in my record shop).
