The Corries in concert

Discogs

The first live album of The Corries, released in 1969. In the first five years of their existence as a duo, they recorded eight albums, of which three were live. Usually the new songs are introduced on a studio album, but not so for the Corries. The live album can and should be seen as regular albums, just with audience. Some songs from the live albums never made it to the studio, and vice versa.

The Corries were performing and recording until 1990, when Roy Williamson died. Ronnie Brown continued to perform in the same spirit, and was known for yelling Come on! during performances of their most famous song Flower of Scotland (also on this record, without the yell). Ronnie Brown is still alive at 87, but is no longer performing since 2015. He stopped because he found himself too emotional to do it. I wonder, was that the yell?
