Brahms – Sonata no. 3 in F minor

Discogs

Brahms wrote his piano sonatas when he was very young. This is his third and last, from 1853, when Brahms was 20. Brahms in his youth was very much like Beethoven: dark and stormy. Also wide and symphonic. This third sonata is enormous, both in length and ambition. Zoltán Kocsis makes the most of it on this beautiful Philips recording.

I’m writing this without the benefit of internet. Somehow the last iOS update has destroyed the capacity of my phone to get 4G. All I can do is borrow other connections and hope for the best. It’s an inconvenience for sure.
