When I heard this song for the first time, I recognised every line of the lyrics. Yes, music was my first love. And it would be my last. I suppose many others thought it with me. I don’t know any other song of John Miles though, and if you say John Miles, you immediately think: Music.
So it is no surprise that it comes from his best selling album. An album that was produced by my hero Alan Parsons. It serves as the anthem for the Night of the Proms, a yearly pop event held in various countries around the world.
The cover of the single and the album shows Miles in a supercool James Dean pose. He got a little older than the famous American hero. He lived to be 72, and died last year.
