An award winning album in so called World Music. I don’t like that term, I think it is very American. This is South African choir singing, with English lyrics and Christian gospel, produced by Paul Simon. It came out right after Paul Simons bestseller Graceland.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo means something like black axe from Ladysmith. Ladysmith is the town where founder Joseph Shabalala came from, and the axe is to cut off all competition. Says wikipedia. They were formed back in 1960, and still exist to this day, though without Shabalala.
