The sixth album of the Italian singer and former lawyer Paolo Conte. It contains the single Max that if we have to believe the Dutch wiki page was the international breakthrough of the singer. Maybe it is only known in the Netherlands and Belgium, because I don’t see any proof of this in any other language. The Italian version mentions it, but has no specific site for the song, like the Dutch. Dutch sometimes think they’re at the centre of the world.
Having said that, it is still worth a listen if you don’t know it. Conte later told the Dutch press it was written for a friend that died. He didn’t want to spoil the music with too many words, so the text is short. He liked the name Max, and imagined a big man, that was also a bit mysterious. The music is a variation of the Bolero of Ravel.
