Nigel North is mainly a lutenist. He has played with the early music scene since the seventies, with celebrities like David Munrow and Alfred Deller. Here he picks up one of my favourite instruments: the theorbe.
The theorbe looks like it is two instruments in one. From one side it look like a lute, from the other a bit like a harp. The longer strings give the instrument and extra, sympathetic vibrating sound. It is also huge, but from a YouTube about it I understood it can be folded.
