New wave was not very popular where I lived. I have understood it was more alive in the east of the country, but where I was, we didn’t listen to anything else than English music. Sometimes a German song made it to the charts, and one of those was Jeanny. It is not on this record.
This album has the follow up of Jeanny, titled Coming home. That is part two of the trilogy that Falco planned to do about this story. It uses parts of the same melody, but seems to have a more cheerful tone.
